In the last month, Holly has found her new home in Monroe’s guest room. She’s pretty fond the loft and Monroe hasn’t minded one bit that she’s made it her own. There’s a few posters hung up along with a couple photos — one of her and her mother, one of her and Roddy, and one of her with Nick and Monroe. Nova spends the majority of her time following Holly around, most likely glad to have another girl in the house. The cats aren’t fond of her, but they aren’t really fond of anyone other than Nick.
Monroe and Nick have fallen into the whole family thing better than they had expected to. Monroe likes having a full house; it’s cozy and warm. He likes making the extra food and actually likes taking Holly shopping. He likes how she insists on trying to stay up and wait for Nick to get home on the nights he works late. She always falls asleep and Nick carries her upstairs. Monroe really likes watching that. Because Holly’s getting taller and Monroe wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up as tall as Nick.
Overall, Monroe’s happy. It’s taken thirty-some years, but he’s finally got the life he hoped for.
